City of Ashes
Release Date: March 25, 2016
Imagine a band that merges vocal stylings of a group like 30 Seconds To Mars with the rock sensibility of band's that dominated the scene when emo was first coming into the mainstream (no, not "American Football" emo...) City of Ashes are able to channel this sound brilliantly into Rise, an enjoyable record that hit the world recently. The eleven track album stays rather consistent with tone, but does in such a way that is more memorable than other artist offerings that have come across our ears in the past year or so. The material seems to traverse some rather personal terrain, and the feeling that we're really learning about someone's life and their battles is very clear throughout the album not just through the lyrics, but through the musical overtones.
This has been another Shameless Promotion.
