It’s officially about to be summer, which means that “festival season” is getting ready to kick into high gear. Coachella, Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas, BottleRock Festival in Napa, and many others have already occurred, and there’s plenty more to follow this summer. But with that being said, a number of smaller, day-long festivals have been popping up around the country, particularly in the vein of punk rock, heavy metal, and rock & roll. These festivals tend to be smaller, with an emphasis on maybe one or two stages throughout the day, but they allow for longer set times and more of a focused and refined lineup.
One of the festivals like this that is set to grace the Bay Area next week, June 15th at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds, is The Bash, a craft beer & music festival that is making only seven appearances throughout the country this summer. Very much in the vein of the Punk In Drublic Craft Beer & Punk Rock Festival (hosted last year by none other than the Bay Area’s NOFX), The Bash will offer fans a day that encompasses just two things: punk rock music and unlimited craft beer.
Punk Rock Music
You can’t have a music festival without music, and nothing spells summer quite like punk rock. Festivals like the Vans Warped Tour (which is celebrating its 25th and final year this July) have engrained in festival attendees the idea that summer is synonymous with heavy, in-your-face, mosh-pit-inducing punk rock. For the San Jose date, headliners will the Bay Area’s own legendary punk four-piece, Rancid, with additional performances from none other than Pennywise, Suicidal Tendencies, L7, and Sharp Shock. This is a day of punk rock music that even the most casual of fans won’t want to miss.
Craft Beer Tasting
The second component to a festival like this comes in the form of craft beer tasting. Unlimited craft beer tasting. Much like the Punk In Drublic Festival, The Bash will offer attendees the chance to taste and sample over 100 different kinds of craft beer throughout their day, beginning at 1 PM (noon if you’re a VIP!) You can click here to see specifically which kinds of vendors will be on site during the San Jose date.
Tickets for The Bash are still available, and you can click here to purchase General Admission or VIP passes for the day. You can scroll below to find out more about each artist performing at the San Jose date, and check back for more coverage surrounding the show in the coming week!
