Puscifer, A Perfect Circle, Primus Announces Addition 'Sessanta' Tour Dates
Earlier this year, Puscifer, A Perfect Circle and Primus announced that they would be embarking on a massive tour which will find all three bands together on stage performing a once-in-a-lifetime style show. The “Sessanta Tour”, has added eight additional dates in Boston, Mashantucket, Atlantic City, Bonner Springs, Chicago, Clarkston, and Forest Hills. Tickets for the new dates are on sale this Friday at 10 AM local time.
The tour is slated to kick off on April 2nd in Boston, and will wrap up on May 4th in Forest Hills. A Bay Area show at Berkeley’s Greek Theatre is set for April 21st, but note that the show is already sold out.
Sessanta is a resurrection, and expansion, of the 2014 Los Angeles event, titled Cinquanta, which celebrated the 50th birthday of Puscifer/A Perfect Circle/Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan. This time around, the tour will be commemorating his 60th birthday.
In a press release announcing the tour, Primus bassist and vocalist Les Claypool stated the following:
“What a glorious notion of combining three bands that all start with the letter ‘P’ for a tribute to Maynard Keenan's 60th trip around the sun. I've known Maynard for more than three decades and I have to say, I've yet to meet a more creative, ambitious and industrious human being; that is assuming he is actually human. Often his perspective and output are more ‘extraterrestrial’ than that of this planet so, It wouldn't surprise me if he has some sort of ‘Prometheus’ type DNA deep in his marrow.”
