Sinéad O'Connor Dead at 56

It has been reported that the iconic singer Sinéad O’Connor has died at the age of 56. A family statement reads as follows:

“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Sinéad. Her family and friends are devastated and have requested privacy at this very difficult time.”

The Irish performer released 10 studio albums over the course of her career. Her song “Nothing Compares 2 U” was named the number one single in the world in 1990 by Billboard Music Awards. O’Connor was nominated for a total of 7 Grammy Awards throughout her career, earning one in 1991 for “Best Alternative Music Performance”.
